LAHORE: City traffic police has deployed 2,535 wardens to manage the traffic flow at public places and roads during Eidul Fitr holidays.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Tayyab Hafeez Cheema on Monday issued instructions to the circle in-charge to ensure smooth flow of traffic during Eid days. 109 inspectors and 13 DSPs have also been deployed for the purpose, under the supervision of three SPs.
He ordered for making arrangements for an additional shift to manage the flow of traffic around busy shopping centres and main roads on Chand Raat. Dolphin Force and district police would also be deployed along with the traffic police wardens at major shopping centres.
On the first day of Eid, more than 1,300 wardens and nine emergency squads would be positioned at different locations of Eid prayers’ gatherings and recreational places under the supervision of inspectors and DSPs.
As many as 900 wardens and nine emergency squads would be deputed under the supervision of 40 inspectors on the second day of Eidul Fitr.
Similarly, 366 wardens and 17 inspectors would be appointed at all recreation points, parks and other major public places to manage parking and traffic flow.
The CTO urged the public to cooperate with the traffic police in managing traffic, for their own and others’ convenience. Citizens may get information about the traffic status from the Traffic FM Radio and helpline 1915.
